Red Dead Redemption 2 Review — Once Upon a Time in the West

13 March 2026chageraldoBusiness, Small Business, Business, Small Business

While hope may be more abundant in relation to a game within the beloved _ Red Dead _ franchise, there is a case to be made that the trust and optimism in Rockstar’s delivery of the title may be misled, as outlined in u/kentuckythumbpicker’s post on Redd

Others, such as the variety of “Strangers” you meet along the way or Random Encounters with other characters, can be more involved side missions that let you engage with some interesting, colorful new characters out in the world while completing activities like hunting, fishing, or collecting bounties and debts on wanted men. Even exploring the game’s various shops and towns can deliver some unexpected secrets to find and possibilities to discover, such as uncovering “illicit businesses” that some of the shopkeepers find themselves involved with. Red Dead Redemption 2 ‘s world always offers something worth finding, if you’re willing to dig deep enough and go off the beaten path. In another instance during my travels, a trail of blood I found on the side of the road ended up leading me to a mangled, bloodied corpse; investigating further ended up putting me on the path to a whole side mission that I probably wouldn’t have found otherwise if I hadn’t strayed from my path a bit.

The delay of Red Dead Redemption did not come with new details on the game. Several new screenshots accompanied the news, but these do not make us less worried. All screenshots do is prove that the game still looks great. We don’t know how the game looks in action, though, which can be a worry. The delay may only be a few months, but news of a delay is rarely good news, as it means that the game in question is in a rough state. Showing cold, hard gameplay would appease the public’s fears of quality and get fans even more excited for the game when it finally released in 2018. Until then, all we can do is speculate about how Rockstar may have evolved the ser

Red Dead Redemption 2 may just signal the dawn of a new era for open-world games, and it’s an experience that I have no doubt players will be investing tens (if not hundreds) of hours into its immense, deep world and completing its story full of action, suspense, and deeply investing character moments. Over the course of its journey, you can easily see the ways that Rockstar Games has not just focused on delivering a world that is massive in scope, but far richer in the ways that it builds on everything that the studio has done in its past games and enhances them for a new generation. Red Dead Redemption 2 aimed high in delivering players a living, breathing world, and it has surely hit its mark as Rockstar’s deepest, most immersive experience yet.

Games are never delayed because the game is in a particularly good place. They are often the result of the product not meeting expectation,s so extra time is taken to smooth out the wrinkles. Hopefully, the delay is simply the perfectionists over at Rockstar trying to make the best game they possibly can, but there is a chance that the game simply isn’t coming together like they hoped it would. It’s been seven years since the original came out, which had many questioning whether or not a follow-up would ever come. As the company’s first next-gen game, there is a lot of pressure for the game to be groundbreaking, but the delay could hint at some trouble brew

What adds to the wariness is the fact that Rockstar – a Take-Two Interactive subsidiary – had originally intended on releasing DLC for _ GTA V’s _ story mode, which never actually came to fruition. Then, when asked about the planned release of the DLC during a 2015 earnings call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that story-based DLC was never discussed. In 2017, Rockstar finally shed some light on the lack of story-mode DLC, when Director of Design, Imran Sarwar, stated that, “it was not really a conscious decision, it’s just what happened.” Sarwar went on to state, “At Rockstar, we will always have bandwidth issues because we are perfectionists and to make huge complex games takes a lot of time and resources. Not everything is always possible, but we still love single-player open world games weapons-world games more than anything.” The latter sentence gives some hope that _ Red Dead Redemption 2 _ will receive the attention and treatment that it rightfully deserves, but while any game is in development, the mention of studio “bandwidth issues” is sure to send shivers down gamers’ spi

And what do you know? There was actually something to find. Up on Mt. Shann, a little searching will reward you with a find big enough to make any archaeologist jealous. A massive skeleton lies solitary among the snowy mountains, begging the question: Is that really the end of the hunt? Or is the truth still lurking somewh

Maybe community involvement could help solidify the success of the online experience in _ Red Dead Redemption 2, _ right? Hold your horses, partner. While Rockstar has essentially allowed gamers to mod _ GTA V’s _ single-player campaign, the same cannot be said about the game’s online experience. It makes sense that Rockstar would want to maintain an online integrity to allow all players to enjoy the same experience, but at the end of the day, it is the outspoken gaming community that ultimately decides what is acceptable in the games they p
