We noted in our first impressions of Sea of Thieves that the server issues are a problem all too common in online games and one that after all these years shouldn’t still happen, but it does. So please be prepared going in that there may be difficulties joining with others in a crew, and that it’s possible to lose connection while playing, and with it, your loot that you’ve yet to redeem at an outpost. This can be infuriating but it’s part of the growing pains and reality of this game at the mom
Sea of Thieves developer Rare has published a full list of the game’s 60 achievements (for a total of 1,000 points), but with a special pirate-y twist. Rather than explaining what players have to do to unlock the achievement, each one has been presented as a riddle. This adds a bit of fun to achievement hunting and lines up well with the upcoming co-op pirate game ‘s riddle-filled que
While we’re talking about microtransactions, allow me to mention the new so-called Bilge Rat Adventures. Those are bi-weekly events that grant you a special currency if you manage to complete specific “achievements” of sorts. A lot of people thought that they are just paving the way for a premium currency, but Rare made sure to let the players know that this is not the case. In fact, Bilge Rat Adventures and the doubloons they grant are just one more addition to the game, giving us something new to do every couple of weeks. So, not only are Rare always adding new content, but we’re also incentivized to interact with it as much as possi
The final clue, the one bit of info that makes all of Sea of Thieves ‘ cave paintings and Easter eggs seem like something more, is a piece of concept art Rare showed a while back during a comic convention. It’s for a figurehead, as-yet-unreleased in Sea of Thieves , featuring none other than a large bear holding a shield adorned with a red b
Skeletons are the only enemy type in Sea of Thieves but come in several varieties. They all only appear on land and cannot enter water beyond the depth of their legs. Some come with swords, some with ranged weapons, and some even eat bananas to heal themselves, while others can use cannons at fo
Commendation achievements also double as Pirate Titles, and are unlocked when certain deeds are done within the game, such as completed a certain number of voyages or earning a particular amount of gold. These achievements range in difficulty from Grade 1 through Grade 5 and upon unlocking mouse click the next web page fifth and final grade of Commendation in each set, a matching Pirate Title is awar
Over on the 81st page of an original Sea of Thieves Closed Beta forum thread, the user known as Pelochoman managed to track down images of the terrifyingly elusive beast. The screenshots do a good job of showing just how big the creature is as the tentacles are fairly visible in the distance as well as quite large when the ship is close enough to be attacked. Another screenshot shows the ship being squeezed by the creature, while another tentacle shoots up through the water with what appears to be a spiked mouth of some sort. What isn’t detailed in these images, however, is just how massive the entire creature is as only the arms and tentacles can be seen, not the actual body of the be
Gold (Armored) Skeletons – These juggernaut skeletons can be intimidating since they’re nearly invulnerable to conventional combat. Thankfully they are the slowest moving and are very weak to water, which makes their gold armor rust. If it’s not raining, lure them to a body of water or throw a bucket of water at them and then fight t
Unsurprisingly, it’s starting to look like Rare might feel the same way. Sea of Thieves ‘ first Bilge Rat Adventure, the Skeleton Thrones, will be ending on June 26. Another event is expected to pick up the same day, though Rare has yet to announce what it may be. Rare will have every opportunity to launch a Banjo-Kazooie event in Sea of Thieves , so long as they’ve planned ahead and laid out preparations. And at this point, most Sea of Thieves players will say, “A
At E3 this year, Rare dropped a brand new trailer, showcasing two of its upcoming updates – Cursed Sails, which landed recently, and Forsaken Shores, which the team is preparing for September. With that, one major feature, which lots of people expected to make it into the game much sooner, got confirmed by the trailer and Rare’s employees in the next few days. And with Cursed Sails we got skeleton ships roaming the Sea of Thieves , and this is what the update is all about. If you ask me, this is a good reason for you to get back on the deck and prepare for some pirat
To be fair, there’s no overt evidence that Rare is planning a Banjo-Kazooie event for Sea of Thieves , only circumstantial evidence. Rare could end up doing nothing of the sort, Rare could just release a figurehead to pick up in-game without an event for it, or Rare could do something even crazier. Time will tell, but knowing Rare’s love of its history (and fans’ love too) don’t be surprised to find a certain bear and bird celebrating their 20th anniversary in st
