When it comes to Westerns, many people’s first thoughts center around cowboys, outlaws, and rebels. Many people forget how influential Native American lore and folktales are to the same time period in which many of these Westerns took place. It was really interesting to see how many references to Native American culture were included in the teaser trailer. There’s a scene where two unidentifiable characters are traversing a river in what seems to be a canoe. If you pan up and to the left, you can clearly make out a dream-catcher in the tree that’s placed in the foreground. Native American tribes played a huge part in the history that shaped the American Mid and Southwest. Rockstar understands this and we wouldn’t be surprised if one of the major protagonists ends up being a Native American bad
Though dual wielding is such an iconic part of Westerns, it’s never been a part of the Red Dead series. The ability to fire two guns simultaneously has to be one of the most electrifying feelings in video games. At the end of the trailer, during the shot of the seven riders, we get a glimpse at one of the rider’s dual wielding pistols. This doesn’t indicate that the player themselves will be able to do this, but the fact that it’s a primary characteristic of a main focus of the trailer does give us hope. It’s not crazy to think that in a game that may have an RPG skill tree, a player could unlock the ability to fire two pistols simultaneously. At the very least, we’ll have the opportunity to fight with or against a character with the ability to shoot multiple people at the same t
Not that Cloth Armor is necessarily bad, but wearing it can get useless fast. It’s fairly limited to the amount of Champions that can use it. Most fragile Champions like Vayne would have a good reason to wear it, but again, it becomes completely useless if one were to have a healer as supp
The name of the film alone should instantly bring to your mind the iconic score from Ennio Morricone, but The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly rightfully deserves its place among the best of the Western genre, and the defining example of the “Spaghetti Westerns” that Red Dead Redemption holds so many visuals and thematic influences from.
Red Dead Redemption was a blast, with numerous side quests, activities and just a big open world games Strategy sandbox world to play in. Great game mechanics and design made it fun, a great story is what made it memorable. The pacing of the story doesn’t ever hit any major lulls and the character of Marshton is sympathetic enough you end up rooting for him, since after all he’s a good guy who just wants to be back with his family. And in trying to get back with his family he ends up being jerked around by the government. After jumping through endless hoops from the government they betray him. The ending of Red Dead Redemption is one of the sadder endings in a video game. The true ending occurs in 1914, and while there is a shot at setting things right, it ultimately feels hollow and unsatisfying. This sounds like a knock against the game, but in reality it is a testament to how powerful the narrative of Red Dead Redemption actually was.
Though the heist is intended as a way for Bishop to ride off into the sunset and leave his former life of crime behind, a turn of events ends up revealing that the heist is a setup by Bishop’s former partner in crime – a turn that certainly echoes that of John Marston’s later circumstances in the original Red Dead Redemption .
There are tons of things we can infer about the next entry in the Red Dead series by just taking a closer look at what we saw in the teaser trailer. These large video game companies understand the complexity of a trailer and how to expertly craft and hide multiple pieces of information regarding the game. It’s not that far of a stretch to understand that everything included in the teaser trailer was there for a specific purpose. The teaser not only provided a valuable setup for the tone of the game but subtly introduced us to what we can expect in this hand-crafted mega Western adventure. There are still plenty of questions that remain unanswered regarding what Red Dead Redemption 2 is exactly. Hopefully, we’ll be treated to a full unveil at this year’s E3, but until then, let’s get into all of the things we know about Red Dead Redemption 2 so
Even after releasing in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V is still one of the top 10 best-selling titles each month, mostly because of its ever-expanding multi-player mode. Fans are continually surprised with how much content is being added to the game on a regular ba
Public consensus points to a delayed release of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC – which, given the company’s history, sounds like a plausible move. That said, neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive has been vocal concerning this point, and as of right now, the only two platforms confirmed to be housing the follow-up is Microsoft’s Xbox One family of consoles, as well as the PlayStatio
